Hsu

George Hsu 徐理強長老

Dr. George Hsu was born in Hong Kong, with ancestral roots in Jiaxing, Zhejiang. He became a believer of Christ in 1960. Dr. Hsu graduated from the University of Hong Kong Medical School in 1968, obtaining a Bachelor’s degree in Medicine and Surgery. Driven by the conviction that faith must be lived out in daily life, he decided to dedicate himself to the field of psychiatry.

Dr. Hsu received specialized training in psychiatry in London, focusing particularly on the study of eating disorders. In 1979, he earned his Doctor of Medicine degree. In 1980, Dr. Hsu continued his research and academic work in Pittsburgh, USA. In 1993, he relocated to Boston and assumed the position of Professor of Psychiatry at Tufts University School of Medicine.

Since 2004, Dr. Hsu has served as an elder at CGCM. He and his wife, Mrs. Vivienne Hsu, have a son who is currently a full-time staff member in the American campus ministry.

Shu-Tsui Tu 杜書萃長老

Elder Shu-Tsui Tu is originally from Yantai, Shandong, and was born in South Korea. After graduating from the Electrical Engineering Department at National Taiwan University, he came to the United States for further studies. In 1984, he obtained a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. In June 1992, he became a believer of Christ at the Pittsburgh Chinese Church. In 1994, he joined CGCM for ministry involvement.

In 2007, Elder Tu was ordained as an elder at CGCM. He and his wife, Tu Zuo Xun, have a daughter. Currently, he is engaged in research and development in the field of computer storage.

Shyhing Pien 邊士英長老

Elder Shyhing Pien has ancestral roots in Liaoyang, Liaoning and was born in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. After completing studies in the Chemical Engineering Department at Chung Yuan Christian University in Taiwan, he came to the United States for further education in 1985. He is currently a research and development engineer in the field of fuel cells. In 1987, he was baptized and became a Christian. He and his wife, Liao Xianfeng, have two sons. In 1991, the entire family began attending CGCM.

Elder Pien particularly enjoys praying with fellow brothers and sisters. He witnesses the power of God’s word, the motivation of Jesus’ love, and the comfort and preservation of the Holy Spirit.

Joe Xu 徐志雄長老

Elder Joe Xu was born in Shanghai, China. He graduated from Fudan University in 1991 and went to Japan to work as a software developer for a few years. He immigrated to the United States in 1993 and was baptized in 1995. He began serving in the Chinese Gospel Church of Massachusetts in 1996, and has served as the elder of the church since 2015. Currently, he lives in Boston, together with his wife Sharon and two children.
